Settings?

I don't know something about my picutre has been bothering me. I am getting the Avia Guide to Home Theater for Christmas (Mom won't let me have it before) but can any recommend what the settings should be for:
Color
Contrast
Tint
Brightness
Sharpness
There are 36 slash marks for the settings, the TV is a Hitachi from about '95, I keep forgetting to get the model #.

Every TV is different, so you will have to use the disc to calibrate your TV(that's the whole point of the disc).
