Interconnects - What Do You recommend?

Well I am using Monster S-Video 2s on my Sony MDP-500 LD and on my Philips player from '98, I bought a Denon DV-1000 but it was garbage, anyways I am going to invest into a Toshiba SD4700/SD5700 soon. I am also using the best Digital Coax that Circuit City had to offer in the Monster brand same with Subwoofer cable.

I was thinking of upgrading my S-Videos to a Monster Z-300, I didn't know if it was worth it or not?

Also, what are your feelings on Optical Cables vs Coax?

Thanks!!!

Can't comment on the video cables...

As for coax and optical, they are functionally identical.

Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

Well you can start here
and here
and this seems to be the seminal discussion.

If you want to save yourself some time, I could try to convince you that it doesn't matter what you use, it's a digital signal...it's the same 1s and 0s wheather coax or optical.

Several people might try to convinve you otherwise, but since the receiver's processor processes the same 1s and 0s the same way it will (in fact) sound identical. Subjectivly people insist one sounds better...but I don't think anyone's shown any actual emprical data to show that there's an actual difference.

She pulls the covers tigher, I press against the door;
I will be with her tonight...

Yeah, it's either going to receive the digital signal or it won't.
