Opinions on Sony KP-65WS500 - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

Does snyone know anything adout this TV? I am considering buying it before Christmas. I have currently a Hitachi 43" 16x9, and I don't like how it upconverts 480p to 540p. It still looks pretty good but I want a tv that will display 480p correctly. Here is a link Sony 65"

Which model # Toshiba? Do they display 480p natively? I know that last years models also upconverted to 540p, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

The 65HDX82

From what I understand, the H82 and HDX82 lines of Toshiba HDTVs do NOT upconvert 480p material. Maybe the 720p gets upconverted to 1080i in the TV.....

At least the set is worth investigating.

That is a cool set, and right in my price range too. Unfortunately it does upconvert to 540p. Anyone have actual hands on experiende with the Sony?
