question about screens for front projectors
Are there any decent screens that would do justice to a projector like the the Plus Piano, that roll up, kinda like the ones we had in high school? And if so about how much would they run?

http://www.stewartfilm.com/home_cine...e_theater.html and http://www.da-lite.com/Home-theater/index.php makes popluar screens but I don't know where to buy them. I guess a google search would help to find a local supplier
hope the links help.

I would suggest asking a movie theater where they get there screens from and see if you can get the suppliers number and investigate. They are pretty expensive suckers though.

I suggest you take a look at AVSForum.
They currently have a great deal for a Da-Lite grey screen (which is preferrable for DLP FPs). There are also many other threads regarding other brands & models and also DIYs.

Pretty much all comercial theaters use Stewert screens. And they are the prefered screen in home theater use as well, however they do not come cheap, especially anything that rolls up. I'm guessing you will be in the $1500-2000 range for an 80" Stewert.
Da-lite is the next best alternative, and like mentioned about, check out AVS forums, they have a TON of great information. I'm currently using a 8" sheet of drywall painted with a matt white finish (and an undercoat of light grey) and then I masked it with some dark black fabric for my Piano. It works great for now now --I'll be looking at "real" screens in the future.

ooops... I've been misunderstood.
What I meant was that grey screens are preferable for DLPS. Not that Da-Lite screens are... (it's just that Da-Lite are much cheaper than Stewart screens, and nearly as good).

Well I'm using an 8 foot sheet of drywall painted with a grey undercoat and then painted with a matte white finish (3 coats) with my Piano and it works amazingly well. This is just a temperary solution until I buy a Stewert, but I'm happy with it in the mean time.
Total cost for me was well under $20.

I've never seen a high-end Stewart roll-up screen, but all the roll up screens I have seen don't seem like good choices for HT. They get wavy wrinkles and blow in the wind. Both bad for a well focused picture. Does anyone know how/if the Stewart's correct for this?
