JBL PB10 & Speaker Settings
I just purchased a JBL PB10 subwoofer recently. I am overall pretty pleased with it!! But my question is as follows:
On my Sony receiver, which has the A & B speaker switch option, i have my front speakers hooked up to the "B" terminals. This is because if i have them in the "A' terminal and set the speakers to "large", it obviously takes away from the signal that is sent to my sub. But if i have them in the "B" terminals, the signal does not seem to be cut from the sub when set to "Large" Is the sub signal still being reduced when speakers are in the "B" terminals and set to large? I currently have the Sony STR-685 as my receiver. My front speakers are KLH 12" 3Way Floor Speakers Model: 9912 |

The B speaker hook ups are for a second room so for 5.1 sound you shouldn't be able to hear them and your surrounds (which I presume are using A) at the same time. If you don't want any low frequency sent to the front mains set them to normal or small and set your crossover accordingly. I don't know how good the KLH speakers handle low frequencies but if they can handle it let them. The sub should only being handlng the bass that the mains can't by setting the crossover above where the low frequency rolls off from the mains. Oh and on my receiver if I use speaker B the sub is automatically shut off for the reason that they expect the B speakers to be in a different room than the sub is located.
