Barco Graphics 800
Well, I have spend the better part of the last month tinkering and tweaking my Barco projector. I must say...
DAMN that piture looks AWSOME! I am watching Reign of Fire as I type this, and I am jsut awe struck at how good it looks. I am feeding it with my HTPC. After I get done Tweaking it some more, I'll invite Chromy and Taxi over to check it out I'll try and have Chromy bring his Digital camera for some screen shots. j

What are you using for a screen?
I wish I had room for one of these, man there are a lot of great deals around.

well, here are some pictures of one of the problems I am facing with my projector. in the center of the immage, the blue aligns perfectly with the green. On the left and right, the blue moves left, progressivly more as you move to the outside. Also, the blue seems to bloom way to much, and I can;t seem to get it to focus. Could that indicate a bad tube?

I forget the technical name for what you're describing with the line deconvergence at the sides, but there is a specific control to fix it on my Sony 1251, I would assume there would be one for your Barco as well. Do you have the manuel for it? Do you know you can download it on-line for free in Acrobat format?
The blue blooming dosen't mean a bad tube as much as probably brightness turned up too much and not having the blue as sharply focused as it could be (the blue is the hardest to focus). The tube is bad if it is brown/turning brown--blooming would be the opposite of this.

I looked it up in my manual and it looks like your linearity is in need of adjustment.
And, here's what a burned blue tube looks like. These projectors do throw a great picture, don't they? ![]()

If you notice in the image above, the Blue gets Progressive left from right to left. On the right, it starts on the left and on the left, well, you can see above.

Isn't this just a linearity adjustment? Do you have that setting on your pj? On my 1251 it would just be a matter of pressing the linearity key, pressing the adjust blue key, and pushing the right arrow key until they lined up.
Of course, completely different pjs, so maybe it's different for you.

Chromy,
I tried to do the 4X3 thing, and it still looks the same. I adjusted the size of the picture to the 50 mark, then adjusted to the 4X3 ratio, readjusted the geometry, and the blue on the left hand side of the image is still out there. Slade, I will go through the settings and look for a linearity setting. The only thing I remember delt with the squareness of the boxes in the grid. j

j, if your PJ is anything like my Barco 708, then you only have vertical linearity adjustment, and no horizontal linearity.
(it's in Geometry->Vertical Linearity)
