Panasonic DVD-RP82 might be discontinued

The RP-82 is in short supply because 1) Demand for it was higher than
expected (strong word of mouth from internet sources), and 2) Panasonic
is running a marketing push for the CP-72.

Most people believe that if the 82 has truly been discontinued, it will
likely be reintroduced to market in 2003, probably with a higher price
tag. It's simply too good of a player for them to suppress.
