Progressive Scan DVD

I am looking at the beginning of the year to get me a new DVD player and want to go progressive since I have a HD Wide TV . Any suggestions? I want to stay right around the $150 to 200 dollar mark. I know I won't get top of the line, but I just want a good one that will play my DVD's better. Thanks.

Well, you probably can't go wrong with Sony or Pioneer. Or you could go with a smorgesborg type once like JVC. If it's aconcern, you might want to check around about the chroma bug (do a search for more info on that).

I've had my Sony DVP-NS715P for about 6 months now and have had nothing but great luck with it. The picture is beautiful on my Mitsubishi TV and it plays everything I pop in. No glitches whatsoever. I love it.

And you can find this player at virtually every electronics store in America for the price of $199.99.

Check out the Sony DVP-NS715P, the Pioneer DV-656a, the Panasonic DVD-RP62, and the Toshiba SD-3800.

I won the DV-656a and I've auditioned the Sony DVP-NS715P. I have NO PROBLEM recommending either player. The Pioneer also supports DVD-Audio.

What kind of TV do you have? Depending on the brand of TV, you might want to stick with the SAME brand of DVD player to ease remote compatibility, etc...

Good luck!

Peace.....

I you prefer to stick with Panasonic gear, then the RP62 should work well with your Panny HDTV...

Good luck!

Peace....
