Fisher 9501-PR will it play DVD Audio discs?
I know this may be a dumb question but it doesn't say in the manual if it will play the DVD Audio discs? I really want to try them. I am using an optical connection would that have a great impact on the sound quality as compared to 5.1 seperate inputs from the dvd player to the receiver? I have a lot to learn!
The model is either a 9501 or 9051. It's late and I'm so sleepy.

DVD-A can only be played through the 5.1 connection on MOST DVD-A players. The only exception I know of is the Pioneer DV-47Ai that connects through a proprietary IEEE 1394 connection to a Specific Pioneer VSX-49TXi.
As it stands, there should be something referring to DVD-Audio either on the front of the unit, or in the manual on the page that lists the formats that it plays. If it doesnĄ't have that listed, then I am afraid you are out of luck ![]() On the other hand, the DV-45A is a rather inexpensive DVD/DVD-A/SACD player. There you have a one for all solution to your problem, and a damn fine player to boot ![]() j
