Sony DVP-S330

As the thread title says I have a Sony DVP-S330 CD/DVD Player. I have had the thing for about 4 years. Lately I have been notcing the player getting a little twitchy. Certain movies that I never had problems with before started skipping and locking up. Several times I would get the error message C13, which according to the manual means the disc is dirty. I have cleaned the disc and checked them for scratches and this has continued to happen. Some of the movies I have noticed this on are Gladiator, The Matrix the 3rd season of MASH. I take very good care of my disc and as I said before they all played fine until a couple of months ago.
Anyway, I bought Harry Potter and The Ultimate Toy Box on Friday. Harry Potter played fine and had no problems. The Toy Story movies are a different story though. These are brand new disc and on Toy Story it starts skipping near the end of the movie. I checked for scratches and found nutin. The movie wil play but if I try to access any of the bonus material on the 1st disc I get the error message C13 again. On Toy Story 2 I watched the first five minutes or so of the begining on Friday and it played fine. Now when I go back to watch it again I get the message "NO DISC". I have cleaned the disc and looked for scratches and again nothing. This wouldnt baffle me so bad if it hadnt played fine on Friday. As for the supplement disc I get the same "NO DISC" error message.
Does anyone have any ideas on something to try to fix this or is it time for me to break down and buy a new player.

Thanks for any help

Your player is suffering from Sony-itis. After a few years MANY (although none of mine) Sony disc players (plain CD, LD, PS1&2's, and dvd players) all start going downhill...the motor that controls the laser pickup is dying on you...not worth fixing...the sony replacement (the 325 that is out now) is about $99 i think - probably cheaper than any repair job

I couldnt find anything on the 325I but did read up a little on the DVPN-S325. Is this about the same thing?

Yes, same thing, I always ommit the DVP, because I'm too lazy to type...
Also, if you are in the market for a new player, there are plenty of models in the $99 range (and far cheaper too). I'd shop around unless you are definitely sold on Sony.
I've personally never had problems with my 3 sony DVD players (i'm lucky, i guess). My only nitpick with all of them is the 1 second layer change that occurs on most dvd's (my cheapo region-free Sampo player switches layers MUCH faster, as good as DVD-ROM software players). Anyway, DVD players have changed quite a bit since the 330 - I would look around a bit before making the jump.
