Power protection, Component or Strip
I was thinking of picking up something like THIS to replace my $20 strip type surge protector that powers my home theater. I figure that I can try "Clean Power" for a month and see If theirs any difference. I think this would also be good because when the summer rolls and the monsoon season starts theirs alway surges, spikes, and quick power on/off every time a storm hits. I could just get a higher end strip model, but I like how the component style looks. I just wondering if anyone else has tried somthing like this and how much of a differance it made. Thinking back I don't think I've ever seen anyone ine the Home Theater Forum comment on how good thier power supply was.

I'd like to know how they "clean" the power source. I'd expect it would just be a few very good capacitors hooked up, but I don't know.
As for protection; I think if you have proper Ciruit Breakers for your power supply - they should cut out when there is spikes or earth currents being encountered - then you won't really need surge protectors. Better safe than sorry tho ![]() |
