Dvd Player Sound Quality

Can a dvd player affect the sound quality. i mean when you use the digital out to send the audio to the reciever. can using a cheaper player sound worse? or is it just the same thing on all players?

When you're using the digital output, any player should send the same ones and zeros to your receiver.
