Is there any way to get an existing DVD player modified?

I just bought a new Panny F85 player, but I was originally planning on getting a region free player. Unfortunately, no region free players I could find had DVD-A or SACD support, and for the $200+ for a Malata, you should at least get DVD-A.

Anyways, as much as I'd prefer to spend another $75 on a Cyberhome, I can't justify it right now . Is there any way to modify an exisiting brand name player? Do any companies offer this?

If you do a Google search on "region free DVD" or "code free DVD" you might find places that offer "Do-It-Yourself" kits to mod your player.

If you go this route, proceed with caution.

Good luck!

Peace...
