What's wrong w/ my player

I have a JVC XV-525 and all of a sudden one day it just stopped loading up the discs, it'll open up and let me put the disk in and at the load up screen, it'll say "reading disc" and then nothing and the display on the player reads "0 0 00" and won't do anything and yes i've tried cleaning it but it wont' even let me do that, and of course its out of warranty, any help is much appreciated.

Does the player make any noise as it is trying to read the disc? Some people have heard a grinding sound as this player tries to read the disc (unsuccessfully read the disc, I might add).

It doesn't make any noise out of the ordinary, it just won't read the disc and just sits there

Hmmm...

Well, maybe someone with more knowledge of that player will see this and be able to help you out.

Sounds like your player might need service. How old is it?

Peace...

Monrozombi - It sounds like the DVD is not being read. If you are adventurous, open the player up and use a hard bristle brush to clean off the rubber grip/disk that rotates the DVD. Even if the rubber disk looks clean give it a try with the brush. My brother in law had a similar thing happen (though with a Sony) and that's how we fixed it.

I had the same problem with my Toshiba, I would insert a disc and it would display no disc. It was about 2.5 years old so I just bought a new dvd player it was cheaper than having the Toshiba serviced.
