Lucky me (new gear)
My family recently came into some money (for a reason that will remain unsaid; no, it's not illegal) and what else would I do with my portion of the dough? Why, upgrade my home theater, of course!
Some of you may remember a while back when my BA DT6000 was fucked up (which I eventually figured out to be a short-circuited center channel, by the way) and I was looking at a Marantz receiver. But now that I had quite a bit of money to spend, I could go ape-shit with it and buy just about anything I wanted. So I took my old PSB/Yamaha/Panasonic/Denon set-up and put that in my brother and I's "fun" room. Here is the new gear I picked up for my main system:
I guess you all know what I'm going to say next: this new system completely blows the other one out of the water. And some of you were wondering why I didn't shell out the cash for the Denon DVD-2900 instead of the Pioneer. Well, I did need a new guitar, so that's where that money would have weant. Besides, it doesn't matter because the Pioneer is really good anyway and looks and sounds just fine. I picked up Dark Side of the Moon (which sounds delightful) and What's the Story Morning Glory (which sounds pretty good, as well). I'm impressed so far. Well, feel free to acuse me of gloating and acting like I'm better than all of you now. ![]() |

Axiom?!!
I hate those speakers! Just Kidding, congrats on the new setup. Sounds very nice. What finish did you decide on for the speakers?
