Panasonic DVDF85S + MP3 + DVD-R

OK, so I've got a Panasonic 5 disc changer which plays MP3s on CD-Rs, plays video on DVD-R but won't play MP3s I burned on a DVD-R. WTF? I suspect it may be a file system issue, like maybe I need to use an ISO file system instead of DVD's default UTF, but I hate to keep burning DVD-Rs as tests since they cost a buck apiece. Has anyone had issues like this? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jellodyne

* memo to mods - we're not talking music piracy here, these are all MY mp3s I ripped from MY cd collection -- I just thought if I could squeeze all of my cds onto 5 MP3 DVD-Rs I could just random play EVERYTHING.

That's fine... I figured you were focusing on the specific problem of burning MP3s to a DVD-R and playback issues and nothing more than that.

Maybe MP3 support in current DVD players is limited to CD-R or CD-RW media only....

Wouldn't you have to burn a DVD-Video disc in order to play it in your DVD-Video/DVD-Audio DVD player? Do "data" DVDs "work" in a DVD-Video player or only in a DVD-ROM?

Peace...

Tomd, I think you're right on what the problem is -- DVD-Video is formatted differently than data dvd. For that matter, so is data CD-R but the player knows from data CD-R but not Data DVD-R. I was thinking I might be able to burn a 4GB psuedo-ISO formatted DVD and that might work, but at this point I 1) don't know how to do that or 2) don't even know if that's possible.
