I advise you to check over at AVS, not only do they have a screen forum tht can answer any question you might have, but they are supposed to have some of the best prices on pull down screens.

But I suggest you do a search and look around before you ask any questions. Being as you are new, chances are the questions that you have will have already been asked, and they are not very receptice to people who post a question that has already been asked and answered.

Things to think about first, your budget, you can get pull down screens from $200 to $5000, and what type of screen you want. Since you have an LCD projector people will sugest a grey screen to improve black levels. I like white because I preffer brighter whites to blacker blacks. Just look around over there, but there is a ton of info.

Is the room going to be used for home theater only? or is it a dual purpose room?

Grey screens also have the advantage of doing better with ambiant light in the room. In my HT if I'm eating I'll often turn on the room lights (directional track lighting aimed away from the screen) and as long as I'm not watching anything too dark the image quality is passable.

If it is a single purpose room, you might want to steer clear of a pulldown screen as the slightest breeze can set them drifting a tad, and some are succeptable to diagonal rolls if not tensioned properly.

it's just goin in my bedroom, so the pulldown would be fairly convenient. i was thinking that the Da-Lite Model-B 4:3 57"x77" might get the job done.

Ok, that makes sense. Probably don't want to nuke an entire wall in the BR for that. I'd suggest that you find one that is tensioned from the sides to avoid ripples in the screen. An example that I could find is here...

If you are looking for a simple Pull Down screen. I would try (if you have them) Is a Re-Use It Center. I was at my local center and saw many cheap pull down screen that would be placed in many School class rooms. Now i haven't been to school for a while so i don't know there quality for picture purpose. But if you want to save some money then they might be a good place to look. They were only like $15-20 Cnd from my quick glance at them.

The pulldowns that SilentBob is reffering to are the ones that will warp at the edges, if you want a screen for movie viewing, you should stick with a major manufacturer like Da lite, or Sterwert. They can be had for less than $200 and in my opinion worth the extra investment.
