HDTV up north

I would like to get into HiDef, but at the moment, my current provider (shaw cable) has only 4 HD channels, I have not seen then. But Bell ExpressVu has like 20 but they look like shit. Example, @ my CoOp last semester they had the BEV HD on a PBS demo, it had a clip of a shark swimming through water, and the belly of the shark was extremly blocky and not very reilistic. Anyone with HD in canada have this problem, how is it in the states?

I only have CBS, HBO, SHowtime, ESPN, Discovery, and HDNET in HD. However, it is worth it even though there are only a few channels because it looks so damn good. If you can afford it, get it!

I only get the Major networks, HBO (which I pay for), ESPN, and INHD. I really only watch Prime Time network programing anyway, and ESPN when I have time to watch sports. I definatly think its still worth it. Here in Philly, it doesnt cost me any extra. The rental charge for the HD box is the same as the regular box, and the HD service comes with the basic digital cable service.

I had a problem with the quality of comcasts service, the signal kept breaking up on me, it happened when I first got the service, and then again when they finally added CBS, so I assume it was a bandwidth issue. But from what you describe I would guess that its more of a hardware issue. Sounds almost like CUE. Can you get Dish or Direct up there? If so that might be a realistic option. The hardware is a little more expensive, but its a one time fee and you get to keep it.

dish-network is the same a Bell Express Vu, they have the best line up, by their "more quantity, not quality" bell has pnly started to rent out boxes this month

In maryland we get the Major networks: abc, cbs, nbc in HD, then I have ESPN, HBO, STARZ,Showtime, INHD 1 and 2 and PBS in HD. Comcast has on DEMAND so some of the movies are in HD as well. So I'd say about 12-15 channels in HD. I started to get the VOOM service but it costs WAY TO MUCH.
