I've become a fan of Bose...Don't hate me for it.

Never thought it would happen but it did. Now before you throw something at me (Calm down, put down the Buick, and back away slowly....)

In my house Theatre #1 is complete with Polk speakers. Sounds great. When I got ready to create Theatre #2, for the kids, (smaller space - tier 2 equipment) I came across some used Bose cubes for a decent price. Thought the cubes were a little lite sounding so I combined them with a DCM subwoofer and tuned their subwoofers into "midwoofers". Hooked up the receiver and ..... hey, not bad.....good presence, full body, excellent localization, fine round sound.

Now I have read from many on this site about, well, let's admit it, hating Bose.

Yes, they are overpriced at full retail, but who out there buys at full retail anyway? I know I am not alone in looking for the best deal.

Wife is happy because the "footprint" of the system is small. Kids are happy, price was right. What is not to like?

Just thought I would get another opinion out there.

I might even go with Bose again, given the opportunity.

Obviously Bose makes OK speakers for HT, but they are not for music.

They just do not have the frequency response of a higher quality speaker. They do not go as high, they cut off at a high frequency, and their bass modules do not go down very low.

There are much worse speaker companies out there than Bose, it is just that many people love them because they have never been able to hear good sound. These people almost always think that they are the best speaker company out there. So it is a mission of many people to let people know that Bose is not the end all best speaker company out there.

Good to hear you are enjoying them. Especially since you have some nicer speakers to compare them to.

Bose are good intro or budget speakers. As long as you pay budget prices, you're fine.

And I agree with snip that I think part of the Bose hate is a counter movement to their marketing campaign. They talk down quality speakers in order to sell theirs. Plus, they always demo in a room that's been made specifically to enhance their speakers.
