Speaker Wires?????`

Although I'm in the process of updated my HT from HTIB to buying seperatley, I would and should get new speaker wires. I'm using the red/black ones that came with the HTIB. Should I be using different wires and does it make a big difference?
Thanks

Seems that there are as many opinions about wires as there are wires themselves. I'm not a believer in expensive wires, but i think that you could benifit from a larger gauge wire. I use 14ga for my surround speakers and 12ga for my mains and center speakers. The 14ga wire is Home Depot Bulk, and the 12ga is Carol SuperFlex which I also purchased at Home Depot ($.44/ft). You can also get it from PartsExpress online.

On a related note, how important is a CL-Rating for wire that will be going into my wall and through my crawlspace under the main floor?
