Current DVD Player Feature List

I see several posts a day over at AVS Forum about what players do this, which players do that. So, I decided to make a spreadsheet and share it with everyone. It is not complete, and I know this. I could use any and all help with any missing specs and features.

So, without further ado, here it is:

DVD Player Feature List

Enjoy.

The Denon 2200 and 2900 have DVD-A and SACD too.

It's on there. Scroll to the right. The 2200 and 2900 pass DVD-A & SACD through analog outputs only.

i know i'm being girly here, but it would be nice to know what colours these models are available in. I despise silver, so I generally skip right over those models - no matter how good/bad the specs are.

I'll add color to the list then.

Is it true that the Denon's faroudja de interlacer is the same as the Samsung's?

I thought that the Denon had a better, newer deinterlacer, I guess I thought wrong.

The 5900 has the venerable upscaling Faroudja/Genesis FLI-2310 chip, while the 2200 & 2900 use the Silicon Image DVDO solution. Both are excellent deinterlacers. The 5900 does indeed use the same deinterlacer/scaler as the Samsung DVD HD-931. The biggest difference between the two (aside from build quality) is the MPEG decoder.

The Pioneer Elite DV-59ai has an on board DD and DTS decoder.

Nice effort Red! Your spreadsheet could really come in handy for anyone looking for a new player. Any chance you could identify which players are infected with the dreaded Chroma Bug?
Helluvajob!!

Thank you sir. I added some more info on there including available colors. I plan on adding a add'l notes section for things like chroma bug very soon. The hardest part is figuring out what MPEG decoder these things use.
