dts-hd

now that we know dts-hd will be the standard for blu-ray and hd-dvd, will they be backwards fully compatible with current dts receivers??? in other words, will current dts receivers not be able to make full use of dts-hd or will it sound the same as a receiver made specifically for dts-hd?? im worried because i really dont want to buy a new receiver when high def movies start coming out.

Short answer is:

a) DTS-HD is not the standard but the ability to handle it will be required on all players of both future HD video formats. At least, I think that's what they said...

b) Yes, DTS-HD was designed to be backwards compatible with existing dts decoders.

Also... the search function works great...

Closing because there's already a thread on this...
