TV Service Mode/Menu and Service Manual

As I'm sure most people here are aware certain calibrations to a TV cannot be made via the standard menu but only in service mode/menu .

Now I am aware that a TVs warranty will be void if one tempers around in the Service Mode but the warranties on my TVs have expired anyway .

My TV is a Toshiba 36 inch 4:3 model .

For my TV in particular I would have to try to get rid of overscan and a red push as well as being able to turn off Velocity Scan Modulation since it being on makes adjusting the sharpness correctly via Avia Test pattern nearly impossible .

It is easy to find how to get into the service mode for most makes of TVs , one just has to look online .

Since one can potentially really screw up a TV when meddling with the service mode there are Service Manuals available for all makes and models .

Here are my questions :

1. Have any of you made adjustments in the service Menu for your sets ? If so what are your experiences ?

2. Where can one get a service manual ?
