TV/DVD Recorders
I know they have TV/DVD combo players, but I'm looking for a TV with the built in DVD player that records! I haven't seen any yet; do you guys know if they exist?

Not that I've seen. It won't happen until DVD recorders drop below say $150 on their own.

I have to agree with aintnosin. Until they can get the DVD recorders prices down you will probably not see a combo unit, as one of the main selling points of them is their price.
Now that being said, I would be quite surprised if one doesn't show up on the market in the next 10-18 months (I figure they will either rush a unit out for Xmas '05 or develop it a bit longer if they can't make the Xmas shopping season), as I have seen several models of DVD recorder on sale at my local Walmart. I would consider this a good indicator of the technology going mainstream. Whether or not the "all-in-one" unit would include a hard drive too, well that's slightly more doubtful. |
