I love my new remote!!
After years of using 4 remotes to control all my components, I finally invested in a decent universal remote. I had tried some cheap universals that never seemed to get the job done. A couple of days before Christmas I ordered the Harmony SST-659, which at the time was only $90. After spending a little bit of time setting it up online, I could not be happier. Just by pushing the "Watch Movie" button I accomplish what use to require three remotes (TV, DVD, Receiver). Inputs are changed, the aspect ratio gets changed (My TV doesn't auto detect), and my receiver and DVD player switch on-- when I'm done, I press "Watch TV" and the inputs change again, aspect ratio changes and the receiver and DVD player turn off-- It's a beautiful thing. My wife loves it so much she never even bothered to ask how much it cost. As an added bonus I can download the TV guide into the remote and not piss everyone off with my constant flipping, I can just check the LCD.
If you're one of those people like me, who has been questioning wether it's worth it to drop $100 or so on a remote, do yourself a favor and just do it. You (and your family) will be happy you did. ![]()

I've had the same remote for just over a month now and the wife and I are completely satisfied with it, my tech-illiterate Dad can even use it!...I have yet to find a function that it can't control! Setup was fairly easy as well...it took me about 45 minutes to get it set up to perform basic functions but after putting in a bit more time with it I can safely say that it does everything that I could have done with my five other remotes...and the 659 is their budget model!
Definitely worth the $100.
