Lite-On 5005

Does anyone have a Lite-On 5005 DVDR? I've had one for about 3 months now, and last night it died on me. The damn thing just froze mid disc and would not eject it. The thing is basically toast.

Now . . . my brother bought one a few weeks ago. After a week of owning his, the same thing happened, except he was fortunate enough to be able to eject his disc. His unit would power on, but would remain stuck at the HELLO led display (same as mine).

Just curious if anyone else has had any experience with this unit.
