I just won a Minitek(?) 10.2" Widescreen Portale DVD Player (MDP-100)

How long will it last before crapping out?

See, it really depends on how it's handled. Like, if it's left between the infamous couch cushions, you have a month. Personally, I'd sell it and buy more Atari 2600 games.

I have retired the Atari 2600 to the attic; especially since most of the good games have been ported over due to retro-popularity. Maybe I could sell it and get a DS?

Heh, I have the 4" one. It lasted about a month before the plastic top broke down the center. It still "works" though.

That said it's a giant peice of shit.

I had a DS for a week. I wanted to stab the thing. I took it back.

It's a shame on the retro-popularity -- I have a ton of 2600/Intellivision/Colecovision/ carts and Mattell Football handhelds, that lost most of their collector value from the re-releases.

i had a mintek player for about 6 months before it crapped out, interestly enough i can still use the input on it if i say wanted to hook up my xbox to it, but for what ever reason the DVD player will not play, i regret i ever bought it, but it was early on. If i was you i would just sell it because your getting pretty good cash for it.
