DVE the final verdict on LFE test levels

(i am making this double post as this relates to both software and hardware)

There has been a lot of discussion about the level of test tones on the DVE test DVD.i believed they were correct as they matched my THX DVD player noise signal.onkyo SP 800 to be precise.

i also sent a mail and got this response from JKP

Thank you for your inquiry regarding "Digital Video Essentials." No
there has not been an error found on the DVE disc regarding audio levels.
Dolby Laboratories did the encoding and has now checked the program
twice, it meets their specifications. There is an explanation regarding
the level confusion here:

There is also more information available in the test pattern
description manuals here:

Joe kane also said the disc matched the THX and dolby caliberation DVD's on The HTF thread,so it makes sense those disc from THX and Dolby cannot have errors in LFE levels.

Those who are worried about the wrong caliberation levels may now go ahead and buy this disc.i found no diff in levels in my setup after using DVE and my THX internal tones.

I'm sorry but I still don't buy it. I've read and seen enough tests and graphs that show that there is a large error in the LFE test no matter how Joe tries to explain it away. Try comparing the LFE test on DVE to the one on Avia which has never been questioned or doubted.
