DVD Rack

I have been looking for a while now for a rack that looks like the image below, but have not had any luck. Its just a open rack, no doors, it doesnt even have sides, the image is a side view ( yes i made it in 10 seconds). Does anyone know where i can get a rack like this? I know i have seen them, but now that im ready to buy one i dont know where.

Do you need it to be exactly like that? If not, BOLTZ has some nice ones. They come with sides though, and are a wee bit expensive.

Otherwise, if you want a really nice rack...make that two...and yes, somebody had to do it...here ya go!

You know, if your inclined to, you could easily build your own. I know the pic of mine is small, but I'm thinking of expanding on this idea and making a much larger one. Simply put, the materials alone are cheap. If you stain or paint them, it's that much nicer.

3/4" wooden rods (larger for longer lengths or add midway supports), some type of key hole hanger and your done! The side supports could be anything you want, as long as they have holes drilled into them to support the rods.

Mini version:

i realized i should have titled this equipment rack, i think i just defaulted to DVD. Im looking for a equipment rack that looks similar to what i have shown above? Ive thought about building one myself, i like to do that kind of thing, but the wife frowns on my innovation

Doh! Now I gottcha. That design, is the bottom shelf which I would assume holds the heaviest piece of gear going to prevent it from tipping backwards?

I suppose a 20+lb avr might. I too a while back was thinking of a design like this and ended up getting strange looks from my neighbor when I presented it to him, but hey.....it's nice to know I ain't alone in my thinking afterall.

Something like this? And it's only $679 delivered!

Don't worry, they have cheaper ones too.

exactly what i am looking for. I dont need glass, and i would work with a cheap target "organize it" one if there was such a thing.

I like this design Ig, its very open, helps with over heating components, but definately will rack up dust.

I went with an OmniMount a/v rack. I forget what it cost, but it was somewhere in the 200-300 dollar range. It's glass shelves are nice, but like you said...dust is a pain in the ass. Unlike the one I linked you to earlier, this one at least has some wire management which to me is a plus.
