SA-CD capable player settings question ?

I finally got an SA-CD and DVD-Audio capable DVD player and now I have some questions about the menu settings .

First of for SA-CD and DVD-Audio it uses a 5.1 channel analog output . My receiver let's me set the channel volume for my 7.1 channel input which would receiver the SA-CD, DVD-A signal from my player so logically I wouldn't have to do anything with the channel volume setting of the player .

The player of coarse also allows me to set the distance for all channels should I set them accordingly or leave them alone ? Will these even affect the SA-CD and DVD-A signal ? Standard CD and DVD signals will be output through the Optical output so it won't affect them .

If you are happy with the way it sounds now I would say leave it alone. The difference in length of speaaker wire runs should not be enough throw it off any. I don't have but a handful of SA-CD or DVD-A titles. But I highly recommend Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon SA-CD. At one time this was considered reference material but I'm not sure if it still is. I have to travel at least an hour to find stores that carry the SACD titles and then they are over priced. So if I want something I buy them off the net. Oh yeah you might want to check eBay for titles or even sampler discs since are great to show the system off. I have a sampler with Norah Jones and it sounds really good.

I would leave the players settings off (assuming there is an 'off') and use the avr's settings (assuming you've calibrated it) as is.

I'm also assuming my answer is helpfull but since I have YET to set my player up with 6 analog outs for high rez music, I may be wrong.

Well I've done the set up and I'm happy with how it sounds . I just tried out the new remasters of the Depeche Mode albums Music for the Masses and Violator on SA-CD , they sound amazing .

use the distance settings on the player as most receivers won't do distance adjustments for the multichannel inputs.

That's what I did . I did the distance adjustment on the player . My receiver's multichannel input allowed me to do adjust the speaker volume so I did that on the receiver .
