This is the first, HT Gear (DVD) Died. :(
This is the first, never had a Component died on me...Sony DVP-C670D 5-DVD Changer. It's funny because my first DVD player I bought back when DVD launched, Sony DVP-S3000 is still alive/kicking (parents have it). I believe both don't even do Progressive Scan and spent close to $2,000 CAN. LOL
I can't even add up the number of hours I used this, so I guess I can't be too disappointed....I had it for over 7-8 years. I tried using CD/DVD Cleaner (Self Cleaning Brush) but had no luck...can't anything, "No Disc." I'm thinking of buying the Sony 8" Portable DVD Player (DVP-FX810) to watch my DVD's...mostly are now just TV Series from the 80's, 90's (Cheers, Married with Children). Don't really want to use my Toshiba HD-XA2 for these

Some of those portable DVD players have performance on par with the older higher end DVD players. Sorry to hear about your loss, and good luck with your hunt

My condolences.
I still havent had anything completely die on me, but i have had a few components start to fade. Hate when that happens. Hurts the wallet too. At least now you can plan for the future, though.
