Tapco? Never heard of them. Are they for music in the bar/concert scene or designed for HT?

How did you come across these amps?

I just decided to grab the Outlaw 7125 amp, use my existing Harman Kardon AVR235's pre-outs, and wait until Outlaw debuts a new processor or I find a great deal on a higher end processor.

Looking at specs, my H/K has the same DSP as the Outlaw, the Cirrus CS-49400. Plus my H/K has 7.1 ability, auto-calibration, 192/24 DACs, and quad crossover, just like the Outlaw.

I didn't buy it yet.

I'm looking to Emotiva MPS-1

MPS-1 chassis: $300
3 200W mono modules (L/C/R): $600
1 2x75W stereo module (rears): $229

= $1,129 w/ free shipping.

Looks mighty tempting...

Thanks!

I almost opted for the 7125, but the allure of 200W was too much.

I figured if I was going to spend that ($1,800) on the 990/7125 combo with a processor that is potentially going to be succeeded later this year or sometime next year, why not spend that amount on an essentially future-proof amp and wait for Outlaw to spit out a new processor.

It's a helluva a lot of money to me, but dammit, the Matrix trilogy is coming to HD DVD.

My pair of BA 130xs w/ brackets should arrive Monday along with my 7 Monoprice 12ft coaxials for the amp. I'll try to set-up 7.1 before the amp arrives, I'll probably go with a stacked full rear surround configuration (two pairs of vertical rears in-line with my listening position) since my listening position is pretty close to the back wall of the room.

Sounds like overkill to me (if I understand this correctly). Splain yourself more!

Basically, I'm planning on this, ecxept the sofa is further back and the rear speakers are mounted on the back wall:

Also I'm planning on sitting the amp on a brick slab, mainly because my rack would either buckle or the tempered glass shelving would shatter.

When you said 'pretty close' I thought you meant much closer to the back wall than that pic. Exactly how close are we talking?

I understand. .. ."want" before "need".

(I doubt any of us wouldn't have gone for it too)
