Do DLP bulbs dim before they blow?
I've started to notice posterization and banding of my 2004 DLP on the original bulb.
I adjusted the lamp boost setting in the internal service menu and the banding gets worse lowering it and gets better when rising it. So I rised it from 20 to 60. The replacement bulb should be on my doorstep Monday. I hope the banding is from a dimming bulb. ![]() |

Considering the bulb is three years old, I bet it is the problem. I'm wondering when I will have to replace my lcd bulb on my tv.

Yes.
But don't wait until the bulb blows up in your TV! That would be bad.
