How Many Does Your Home Theatre Seat?

I was just curious how much emphasis our members put on seating and space for guests. Is your theatre just for you or did you build with guests in mind?

My theatre can currently seat 4 comfortably, 5 if my guests are skinny.

P.S. Poll is public.

6-7 comfortably, 8 or 9 if I bring out the bean bag chair and someone sits on the riser, up against the chairs in the back

I was looking at your HT pics and I'm not seeing your center or "sweet spot" seats. Is that the couch behind the X-Men table (very cool, btw)? I think it's just the angle of the photos that are throwing me off.

I don't have HT "seating" per se but I can get 4-5 on my couches and one in a standalone chair.

Peace...

I guess mine seats roughly 3-5 in a comfortable manner (depending on where the dog lies) Mine is a bedroom setup and i only have beds for seating or lying down on. Plus the room is nly 9 x 11 feet and can get warm in the summer time when the A/C is acting up.

Can't wait to get my own place and dedicate a whole room to my gear but for now its the bedroom

Mine seats 7 very comfortably, 8 easily, and a few more if people don't mind sitting on a beanbag or on the floor.

Our system is still in the living room, but:
3 - On the sofa
2 - In recliners off to the side; far from ideal seating
4+ behind the sofa. We have a set of shelves behind the sofa, and have 4 "stools" (with seat backs) from our dining set that fit nicely behind the sofa. The shelves make for a nice place for drinks, snacks, etc... and the height of the stools work great in lieu of a riser. Not the most comfortable though.

Additional viewers *could* sit on the roll around ottoman or on the floor, but then it starts to get pretty cramped; more useful for other types of gatherings, especially Christmas time or birthdays.

The plans for finishing the basement include seating for at least 4-6. It'll depend on how much space gets dedicated to other things.

Since its in a living room its seats 4 very comfortable (3 on the couch, one in the chair) but I could probably include a couple more without too much trouble.

I can fit 7 on couches and chairs, without bringing any in. If I add more seating capacity ( or make them sit on the floor ) I can fit more, but what I REALY want is my 18 seat, 9 reclining loveseat theater room built

If only I had a nice cushy job with MS

I just realized something... if we're talking about hot-looking women, I can fit far more than my numbers above in my HT room....

Peace...

Mine seats 3 adults on the couch comfortably. There is a chair on the side to make 4.

However...my next 'theater' (coming soon) will seat as many as you want.

Neither do deflated blowup dolls, since we're going on a mean streak here.

True. Now, inflated blow up dolls, they just take up too much damn room, or so I have heard.

If we're talking BPSQFT then I can seat a lot, lot more...and I have. Also there are photos so I could probably prove it.

I gotta say 1-3 since I only have two chairs and not much room for more at this point.
