TV Trade up?

So, the receint death of the lamp in my DLP has presented me with an opportunity to maybe upgrade to the next better model, and maybe for less money to boot. Right now, I have the WD65731. If I chose to, I can upgrade to the WD65732.

It offers:
  • Dark Detailer™
  • New! PerfectTint™
  • DeepField Imager
  • SharpEdge™
  • TV Guide On ScreenŽ ( Won't use that )
  • Multi-Format Reader ( guessing it's a card reeader )
  • NetCommandŽ with IR learning
  • 3 Component Inputs ( Vs. the two I don't use now )
  • Adds New! 180W lamp - TurboLight180™
  • New! High Output Light Engine (instead of 6-Color)

The last one makes me wonder...Does that mean it doesn't have the 6 color color wheel?

May I ask what makes DLP your soup du jour'? (that's as French as I can go right now).

Just curious, and if I read that right, I'd buy a new lamp.

Well, the lamp was replaced under warranty. I'm just thinking...4 months is a bit short for a lamp, IMHO. In my price/size range, I am looking at DLP, because I don't believe they make an LCoS 65" set

This is kind of like buying new shoes because you broke a lace.

Keep your set C, this new bulb will last you 5 years.

Now on the other hand if you can sell it for a good buck then ......

So, aparently, my line of Mits RPTVs accept 1080p24. Question is, does it display it at 1080p24, or 1080p60?

So, after MUCH thought, I traded the 65731 for a WD65734( the replacement for the 65732 ) I like this one a bit better simply for the black cabinet. I haven't been able to watch much on it since I had to go to Oregon for work on Sunday ( they delivered it Saturday. ) I'll update pix and give some impressions when I get home Thursday.

Not sure yet. When I have an HD-DVD player that outputs 1080P24, I'll let you know
