Sturdy cabinetry that doesn't cost hundreds?

Hey guys, I'm on the hunt for an A/V stand to replace my space age vibration reducing, tone reconstructing CARDBoarX stands.

I need something about (as in no more than) 2 feet higher x 2 feet deep x 58 inches long. Dark brown, Black, or bare wood is fine. I can stain.

Searching around locally, I'm suffering sticker shock with all the $300-500+ price tags. Also I don't trust glass shelving to hold up a 90 pound amp, a 18 pound center, and other various weighty things.

It would be nice to get some direct recommendations, but just some manufacturer recommendations would be great.

I would keep it as is. That way you'll always have that "we just moved in" look. A house always feels newer when its just been moved into.

If you don't mind doing it yourself, many people like the flexy option.

(Historical side note: the flexy thread is the oldest thread in the hardware forum, so most of the images are missing.)

Glass shelving is far stronger than you think. 90lbs would be nothing for a decently thick piece of glass.

EDITED: $300 isn't shocking to me. You could build one really cheap, and I could help, but really...$300 is norm IMO.

Edited AGAIN!: Go here and look at the weight capacity: Here.
