Home Theatre Stores in Detroit Area?

I'm heading to Detroit in a couple of weeks and figured I'd pick up a Panasonic PT-AE2000U projector when I'm down there, seeing as how the exchange rate is absolutely fantastic right now.

So, can anyone recommend a home theatre store for me? I'll have my car with me, so I don't mind driving a little bit if necessary.

Thanks.

Detroit? Don't they sell cars? Isn't this the place my main man Jerome Bettis got his dues?

Sorry man, I don't know squat about Detroit dealers but I DO envy you on that future PJ purchase.

Good luck!

Since it's Monday, I thought I'd bump this.

Anyone?

These were listed from Panny's website as authorized dealers. I punched in 48201 as the zip. You probably did this already though.

I'm afraid I'm on the wrong side of the state to help out. My wife is from Ann Arbor, but I highly doubt she ever paid attention to what A/V shops were in the neighborhood.

Thanks for that info Iggy. I had indeed done that already, but I thought I'd post here anyway as I'd prefer to shop from a store recommended by a real person.

The effort is much appreciated though.

I found it odd that the first two specialize in providing a/v for Churches. I had no idea Churches were big a/v customers. Then again, I haven't been to one in a longggg time.

Heh. Every church I've seen in the last 15-20 years has had at least an audio system. Many now have projectors, often used to project hymnal verses. I can't really say, since I've only been in churches for special occasions in the last 12 years. Both churches that our Daycare used for their '05 and '06 hristmas programs had projectors and sound systems. One had a ridiculous amount of bass; horrible setup.

I don't know about other places, but I come from a relatively small down (the Village proper is home to just over 1000 people), and I can think of at least 8 churches within the approx. 1 sq mile village. The density of churches seems pretty constant around here, including metro Grand Rapids, which has a population of ~450k people. West MI really belongs in the Bible Belt, but that's a lot of sound systems.

I've consulted for A/V installs on several churches. All had piles of money to spend (in all instances, I was asked to provide "the best of the best"). It's a very good business to be in.
