Is anybody else excited about Almost Famous: Bootleg!!?
Last night I was watching Almost Famous on HBO in preparation for tomorrow. Didn't watch the whole thing cuz I wanted to watch Ebert and Roeper. The Bootleg versjion was their video release of the weak.
I have been waiting for this for SO long!!! I went to Suncoast today and tried to bribe the manager to give it to me a day early. He said fine if I gave him a job after he got fired. I've got a $15 discount for being on their member program and it's going to this set!!! --Scourge . P.S. -- I'm diggin' this new set-up!! Good job guys!! I've been waiting all year for it! It's most likely the only title I'll be getting this month, and I already sold the original version back in Oct.
I just called two different Wal-Marts here and neither got it in with the other releases, so I think maybe they aren't carrying it since it contains an 'unrated' version. The bastards. I'm anxiously awaiting the opening of Best Buy, in about an hour and 20 mins ![]() |

I haven't seen the movie thus far, but it is the one title I'm looking forward to picking up this week (I was '' this close to adding "Pearl Harbor" to the basket because of its price)

curses. I ran by Best Buy today after school, but I won't be able to watch it until the weekend, if that. I'm going to give it to my sister for her birthday this weekend, so I can't risk watching it in the living room when she could come home at any moment.

Well, I watched it last night and all I can say is: OH MY GOD, IT'S BETTER THAN EVER!!!
Never once did I get the feeling that a reinserted scene or bit of dialogue didn't fit with the movie. I had that problem with Apocaplypse Now: Redux and wondered what Untitled: Bootleg would be like. This is a very fleshed out movie now and I love this even more than the theatrical cut. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch it with the commentary yet. I expect it's good. I liked Cameron Crowe's commentary with Amy Heckerling on Fast Times A LOT! And yes, I was impressed with the placement of the security tag too. --Scourge . |

I am so looking forward to AF: Bootleg. The original was one of the best movies of 2000 (to my dying day, I'll say it should have been nominated for Best Picture) and according to the review, the extra 30 minutes really add to the movie. I will have to wait until Christmas to see it, but I'm sure that like Metal Gear Solid 2, it will be WELL worth the wait.

Well, sorta. She now loses the coat completely...but from the back only. So you see her bare on top and in panties...but only from the back. I guess if you're straight this might be considered pretty hot though. What I really wanted was more views of Patrick in briefs in the deflowering scene but sadly, there are none. (Hey, he's legal in Canada) |

Hmmm... let's see, to answer a couple of questions...
Actually, there was a little more frontal nudity as well with Kate Hudson! This was marked "on sale" for 29.99 at my Suncoast at the mall, which is usually about $5 more expensive for sets of this type than anywhere else. But as I said before, I had a $15 discount for being in their member program. **** I watched it with the commentary track last night. Let me preface this by saying I was born in San Diego in 1973. That's where Cameron Crowe grew up and the movie takes place mostly in 1973. I was probably a little more emotionally attached to the commentary than a lot of people would be, so I actually teared up quite a bit. But regardless of that, this is the best commentary track I've ever heard. The details brought out in this track shine new light on the details in the movie. Cameron's mom did a fabulous job on the track as did Mr. Crowe and the other guests. This really is an added value track for anyone even more out of this movie. Amazing!!! --Scourge . |
