Most wanted SE's

Ok, I dunno if this has been done before, but I was wondering what existing DVD's would people like to see re-done in SE form? I have a few, off the top of my head:

Grosse Ponite Blank
Earthquake
Poseidon Adventure
Towering Inferno
Airport
True Lies

And another thing, where the hell is Leap Of Faith? COME ON PARAMOUNT!!!!

I think this thread's been done B4....

SE's we need are:

Titanic
True Lies

Which I heard might be coming out in 2002 anyway (at least the True Lies: 5 Star Collection)!

MGM is stepping up to the plate with almost all of the Special Editions that I'm dying for in 2002:

Escape from New York
the Fog
Fargo
the Usual Suspects

now they HAVE to get off their butts and put together a Special Edition of:

A Fish Called Wanda

It's a comedic classic that deserves better than the barebones edition currently out.

The Creeper

Well, here we go:

THE BLACK HOLE: Deserves Better Treatment, considering it has a wealth of behind the scenes material (including two fully finished deleted scenes).

Aliens, I agree needs one. Since Cameron won't do commentary, an Sigorney Weaver/BillPaxton/Michael Biehn/Paul Reiser actor's commentary would be nice. Also give us the deleted scene where Ripley finds Burke cocooned and gives him a grenade.

Hudson Hawk: am I the only one who really loved this film's nonsensical humor? An Actor's commentary would be cool (to go with the director's commentary on the old disc. But thats all the old disc has.Doesn't even have a trailer for the movie itself). Behind the scenes, deleted scenes if any, some musical choreography thing too.

Apocalypse Now (Original AND Redux, I dig them both)- WHERE THE HELL IS HEART OF DARKNESS ? Or a Coppola, Sheen, Brando commentary? You'd think Paramount would treat one of it's most celebrated films right for once.

Screamers- Wonderful Peter Weller sci-fi. I love this movie. I'm sure everyone involved would do commentary, deleted/unfinished scenes (sure there were some unfinished, due to budget), Christian Duguay (the Director) also developed his own stedi-cam system for this flick. something on that would be cool.

Dark Star- Admit it, we all want Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon to do a commentary.

Dawn of the Dead
Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different
Monty Python's Meaning of Life
Pitch Black- The commentaries were nice, but there should have been WAY more on this disc. The rave thing, while probably cool to actually be at, sucked as a special feature. Bring us deleted scenes, long behind the scenes feature, etc.
A Simple Plan
Lawnmower Man- GIVE US THE DIRECTOR'S CUT ON DVD, NOT JUST THE DELETED SCENES IN A SEPERATE SECTION!!
Boogie Nights- the platinum series just aint cutting it. (KIDDING)
DUNE- GIVE US LYNCH"S EXTENDED CUT! NOW NOW NOW! IT PREMIERED AT THE LEGENDARY 4 HOUR LEGNTH (AND WAS ONLY CUT FOR WIDE RELEASE), SO A PRINT SHOULDN'T BE HARD TO FIND! GET WITH IT UNIVERSAL!
In the Mouth of Madness- commentary was fun, but where the heck are the other features? Deleted scenes? behind the scenes? Sam Neil (commentary most needed from him).
Strange Days- reinstate those deleted scenes they use on television. They make the film work better.

I would write more but I feel like I'm taking up to much space. Thanks for the place to rant man.

THE AVENGERS- I'd like to see the 30 or so minutes they cut out re-integrated into the film.

THE FIFTH ELEMENT- A big elaborate space opera helmed by a quirky French auteur. There should be all kinds of opportunities for extras- commentary, storyboards, behind-the-scenes material, FX work, etc.

DAWN OF THE DEAD- This one puzzles me, since Anchor Bay is normally great about giving films deluxe treatments (witness their 30+ versions of the EVIL DEAD films).

VIDEODROME- David Cronenberg's best film. At the very least a commentary would rock.

PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE- Maybe in 2004 (the 30th Anniversary.) I'd have a commentary with DePalma, Paul Williams, Jessica Harper and Bill Finley (the more the merrier!), an actual trailer instead of the raw elements on the current DVD release (unless that was the actual trailer, in which case I understand why the film flopped), any behind-the-scenes or promotional material that can be scraped up, a featurette on the music- loads of potential here.

Hi!

I have to go with:

Dead Alive
Dawn of the dead
The Fly (Cronenberg)

I think Anchor Bay is working on the ultimate version of Romero's Dawn of the dead but it'll take a while until it sees the light of day.
Maybe 2003?

Best,
ILSA

I'd like lots of stuff that has been already posted but I mainly want Scorcese SEs and Tarintino SEs. As well as some Tim Burton SEs, and a SE for Gilliam's Fisher King and Baron Muncanhausen.

Forgot about THE FLY- there are supposed to be at least a couple of interesting cut scenes (both FX-heavy), and a closer look at the makeup and puppetry work in the film would be entertaining as well.

Because my Collector's Edition Barbarian DVD is getting lonely, and I really want to hear Arnold's take on that touching reunion with the camel.

I think Ghostbustera II deserves a SE. Ghostbusters was an amazing DVD and was even rated one of the must own DVDs by Entertainment Weekly. GBII might not be a great movie, but I think the transfer and DD mix could be better. Overall, I think the DVD should be redone with Deleted Scenes, Making of..., Music Videos etc....

Okay, these movies need to be SE:

The Bad News Bears
The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training
(Shame on Paramount for setting a 2002 release date and not making them SEs the first time around! )

Searching for Bobby Fischer
Welcome to the Dollhouse
Some Like It Hot
Casablanca
To Die For
Road Warrior
Lethal Weapon
Batman
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
Space Jam
Pulp Fiction
Titanic
Pinocchio -- I am baffled this was not picked to be part of the Platinum collection

I'd also like to see one for High Fidelity. There must be some hilarious Jack Black out-takes.
