Fast and the Furious = A+

Wow, what a rush. I just watched my copy of "Fast and the Furious" on DVD, and wow is all I can say. This disc ranks way up as one of the best for picture and sound out of my entire collection of about 600 DVD's. The Dts comes off with a big whallop punch, and the picture is crystal clear. I haven't had time to watch the extra stuff yet. But for a movie that lacks a storyline and that is one of the most predictible films I've seen in recent times, this DVD just rocks. Story wise i thought the film actually sucked, lol, but hey, I guess I could only describe it as the "Point Break" for car lovers. I was just overall impressed with the quality aspects of this package. If anyone else has received this one early or prior to its actual release date, tell me what you think.

It's kinda funny but as much alike as F&F is to Point Break I like F&F but I can't stand Point Break. Maybe it's a surfing thing?

I'm so jazzed about this disc. Jan. 2 can't come fast enough. Talk about a great way to kick off the new year. You bastards who get things early! Anytime I order online I end up waiting longer it seems.:p

For the record I love POINT BREAK. It's actually a better film directed by the talented Kathryn Bigelow. F&F will have better sound though

I liked this movie.

People can call it cheesy if they want.

I am all over this when it comes out.

I got my Region 1 version in the UK about a week before xmas from Play247.com.
This is my new demo disc for 2002.The picture and sound quality are absolutely reference standard and it has a great selection of extras.
I also thought the film wasn't too bad.Good fun and entertaining despite the shallow plot!

This movie isnt suppose to have a great plot. The only reason for any plot at all is to give us what we want, AWESOME CARS!!! Its ENTERTAINMENT and it kicks ass. I would have been dissappointed with a better plot because then scenes of the cars and hot women would have been taken out to develope the "overrated plot" that people seem to be concerned with too much in movies these days. What ever happened to a FUN MOVIE!? Did Breakfast Club have a great plot? Saturday School with 5 kids, wow! But that movie is great!!!

I am picking this baby up!!! Any news on the price at Best Buy for first week? (crosses fingers and prays) $16.99 I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE!!!!

Point Break is fun but would have been better if there were some better looking women in the movie instead of Tank Girl!!! The movie takes place on beaches with a group of surfers!!! You can't get a better setting for beautiful women!!

Is there a photo gallery on this DVD? If any dvd should have a photo gallery it is this one. Nice pictures of all the great cars behind a cool background!

I was able to rent it at the local Showtime Video (shameless plug for a great local store). They got a few advance copies. I enjoyed this film. And the driector's commentary was one of the best ones I have heard. In fact, I may even watch it again!

Did you get it through some "insider" at a local retailer. Even if you work at one of those places, they are still very paranoid about breaking street dates. Hell there's a website out there with all the major studios listed with their "street Date violation hotlines"

I have found the easiest way to get titles early is to just cruise the local Wall Mart or K-Mart locations. The employees there really dont have much of a clue, and around here I can usually find most titles out the week before the release dates.

That never seems to work for me, when I need it. When there's a movie that I reall am anxious for, the stores stick to the release date like glue.

Not really an "insider", I went to school with the guy who owns the place and my wife and I buy most of our DVDs there. He set out 6 copies and when I went back today, he had about 30 of them out. That way he can sell a few of the previewed copies to his favorite costomers!
