Phase Two -- Help w/ Buying Strategy

I have caught up with most of the DVDs that are out and I'm at the point where I will be picking them up as they come out.

I was ordering about five at a time on-line to save on postage. Now that it will be only one or two at a time, what is the best way to proceed from here? Should I pick them up individually as pre-orders, grab them at Best Buy the week they come out, or hope they show for Columbia House enrollment (I need two more to make the initial five)?

Titles I am interested in that should appear this year:

A.I.
Fresh
Bull Durham SE
Dances w/ Wolves SE
Memento SE
Robocop SE
Raging Bull SE
Pulp Fiction SE
Ocean's 11
Back to the Future
ET
Monsters Inc.

This should average out to one or two a month if I buy at release. What do you think would be the most cost effective way of buying so few at a time? What do you do? Thanks in advance!

I mostly pick them up from Costco, Best Buy and Fry's. I find they are usually about the same price as on line, but without the shipping charge. Of course if it's a more obscure title I just go ahead and order on line. The hassle of running around to 5 different stores isn't worth it to me.

You could probably get; A.I., Ocean's 11, Back to the Future, & Monsters Inc. at your local retailer for about the same price as online. The rest I'm not as sure.

New releases seem to be just as cheap at B&M stores as with e-tailers now. So for the lat year or so I have been pickin gup my new releases via B&M.

Best Buy and Circuit City have been the cheapest, then Costco. Coscto's selection isn't that great. Borders is my 4th choice and then Walmart or Target. If I really can't find something then it's over to Tower, but their prices are a bit more.

Older titles or stuff I don't mind picking up used I grab online, usually through eBay or Amazon with a cpouon. I try and win/buy multiple DVD's that way I bundle the shipping charge.

Either on-line or B&M sounds like a good choice. Just don't buy them as fullfillments from Columbia House. They are guarenteed to be overpriced by $5.00 and then they'll slap shipping on too. Before you know it, you're paying $29.67 for E.T.

With on-line you may even get lucky and they 'll ship it to you a week or two early (the planets have to be aligned properly).

As for B&M, last year I've noticed the stores (mentioned above) have been really good at pricing new releases. I like this trend. Many are around $17.99 and some even hit $15.99 It lasts for a week or two before they go back to $20.00.

You could just buy them online at DeepDiscountDVD. Shipping is free. You can frequently pre-order upcoming titles (I had Mad MAx pre-ordered for an eon), and they won't charge your credit card until the item actually ships...

Fresh is the next one to come out. It is $21.50 at deepdiscountdvd. Would the B&M be able to beat that? I don't know since I have always bought online.

Also, I had a another thought. Would buying on triple point days at Suncoast be worth it?

Thanks for the responses!
