**Glitter** (you know you want the DVD!)
There is a wealth of releases today, but one that is sure to be overlooked is the critically underrated "Glitter", a touching movie about a backup singer's rise to stardom. Mariah has clearly proven that she is multi-faceted in her range of talents, which is no longer limited to her multi-octave vocals. In time for her long-awaited release, the National Enquirer has decided to provide her with some additional publicity:
![]() Please do yourself a favour: forget the VISTA "Sixth Sense" and "Tombstone"; this is the DVD you *must* have! ![]()

Hey, I didn't pick up Showgirls for it's witty dialog or phenominal acting either. I dig her music so I might scoop this one up if there is some coin left over after Buffy Season 1.

According to Entertainment Weekly's review of the DVD, this is an actual line of dialogue:
"We ask ourselves: Is she white? Is she black? We don't know. She's exotic. I want to see more of her breasts." They also note that, in his commentary, the director (Vondie Curtis Hall) says it's a timeless experiment involving male implosion. (Yup, he actually did a commentary.) You know, this may just be the next Showgirls, albeit without all the bare T&A. Then again, without the bare T&A, what good could it possibly be? ![]() |
