Vote for "Indie" titles to be re-released!

Most of these aren't true indie flicks, they're moreso non-mainstream films. And they have all been released already (I think), but are films I think I would buy if they would come out with a nicer version. So, there are no films here that have not yet been released on DVD.
Vote away!

My vote's for Welcome to the Dollhouse.

Cable Guy -- unconventional, yes. Indie?!

My vote is Heavenly Creatures, but that may be a case of Flavor of the Week, as I'm just now discovering the goodness of the Jackson.

Forgive me Lord Crumb.

As I mentioned in my first post, I realize most of these film aren't "indie", but are just a tad outside the very mainstream.

Oh heavenly

Definitely Heavenly Creatures but they should go ahead and redo all of them.

I have Welcome to the Dollhouse and that is one awesome film! I don't mind the release. The transfer gives it that indie quality tha may otherwise be called bad.

There is an original release of Heavenly Creatures?

Isn't that the movie directed by Peter Jackson starring Kate Winslet? I can't believe I missed this one! I love this movie! I have never seen this flick on shelves...I swear!

Just wanted to say one more thing...

I don't know if this is considered "independant", but there's a film starring Rupert Everett called Cemetary Man (or Dellamore Dellamorte) that NEEDS a DVD release VERY soon!

Yes there is a release. It's a really crappy Canadian region 1 release (probably why you haven't seen it), full frame and all! I'd definately buy a new version, and I'm sure one will come around soon with the popularity of LOTR.

I've been wanting to check out this flick for a while now! This poll is for existing DVDs that need a re-release, so I didn't include it in the list. But I'd love to check out this movie sometime.

Bottle Rocket should have been on that lists! I voted for Grosse Pointe Blanke all the same. Happiness should have been on too.

Alas, i could only fit 12 choices.
And I figured that with the recent rumour from Wes Anderson about a possible Criterion DVD for Bottle Rocket, it could be excluded.
As for Happiness, I didn't include it because I feared the wrathof thoe who would say "It's got a great Anamorphic transfer!!! What the hell more do you need?!??!?" And also, shockingly, I still haven't seen. It's near the top of my too-see list. And I can't wait for Solondz's Storytelling, which sounds great, and has recently been screened at Sundance.
I read that the MPAA insisted he cut some scenes from the film in order to avoid an NC-17 rating, but instead of deleted/ editing the scenes out, Solondz simply placed big red squares over the "MPAA-deemed offensiveness". An interesting tactic, that I'm curious to check out.

Menace II Society was my second option after Welcome to the Dollhouse. I pray they release this powerful and groundbreaking film again on DVD!

Re

Menace II Society rocks, but is basically a rehash of Boyz N the Hood, it is still great though. I am waiting still.....
