I was just wondering what people think was the reason why the Dad went over and hugged Kevin Spacey near the end of the movie and then shot him. I think he may of really been gay and was just hiding it for so many years. Once he thought Kevin was gay he went over there for some love too. But when he was denied he thought he had to get rid of Kevin in order to not let the dads actions out. Please give me opinions of what you think was going on in his head. The Colonel's Head.

Errr...think you've got it one there. I don't think the ending leaves much room for interpretation - it's pretty clear cut. Great movie and a fabulous finale.

He didn't just hug him, he kissed him. Once Kevin told him "you got the wrong impression" or something like that, the father was probably embarassed and like you said, felt he had to kill him in order to keep his secret a secret.
