Fortunately I had a birthday combined with some Best Buy gift card credit, so I'm not sure I actually 'bought' these, but my new arrivals for January were:

-The Big Chill
-Jacob's Ladder (already sold..good disc but I decided I didn't want to see this film again for a long time)
-Contact (I had it before and sold it)
-Roots
-Sixth Sense Vista
-On Golden Pond (had before in snapper, new one is keepcase)
-Meatballs
-Batman: The Movie
-Bully
-Billy Madison
-White Squall

And I got rid of: Phil Collins Classic Albums, Jacob's Ladder, and Sophie's Choice (which I never opened, was free with On Golden Pond in a 2-pack )

I didn't buy too many disks:
NIN DTS
Belle De Jour
Nights of Cabiria
Twin Peaks Pilot
Suspiria
Malena
Alphaville
Dead Ringers

I think that covers it. Next month should be more exiciting especially since some of these disks haven't even arrived yet.

Well, I had to check the shelf and see what was new.
It looks like we picked up 7 new films, although a few were either Gifts, or part of gift money:
Tron
Atlantis (Collector's Edition)
Bug's Life (CE as well)
Jurassic Park III
Scooby Doo's Original Mysteries
Simpsons (Complete 1st Season)
JP: Lost World
Although, it seems like we got more than that...perhaps we rented/borrowed a lot this month too.

I thought about Buckaroo Banzai, Mad Max and Grounhog Day, but I didn't get them.

I used this month to look threw film history and grab something I had never seen before. I got Charlie Chaplin's The Kid and City Lights. I've never seen the tramp before and really liked them. I thinking about getting Modern Times.

After those films, I remembered to snag a copy of Walt Disney Treasures Silly Symphonies and Mickey Mouse in Living Color. I jut got my replacement copy of Mickey in the mail tonight.

I don't get it...

I'm in my second month of my new job that effectivly doubled (and then some) my income, and I'm more broke than I was in December... I guess its actually paying the bills So I didn't feel like I could afford many disks this month.

I did get Tombstone VISTA which I've yet to watch even though it is one of my favorite films and I've been waiting for a good release since I got my player in '98. and Braveheart cuz I was really in the mood to watch it after seeing the Lord of the Rings trailer on the Rush Hour 2 DVD (it features a peice of the Braveheart score) but I hven't watched that either...

And there is the paradox. I have new a new job which means I should have more $$$ for DVDs 'n stuff, but I still have my old job too; which means I have no time to watch them!!

That and TIVO sucks all my free time.

I don't usually get this many, but I had my birthday this month.

Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Hidden Fortress
The Third Man
Gofather Trilogy
Buckaroo Banzai
Reefer Madness

That's 4 Criterions, a 5 disc box set, and two cheap cult classics... not a bad haul.
