I'm a fan of all three films, and I own all three:

Buckaroo Banzai has a lot of extras... A retrospective featurette is included with the director speaking about the "real" Buckaroo Banzai. It's a hoot.

Rollerball (I presume you mean the original) is a great film with fantastically conceived action scenes which hold up against almost anything short of the Wachowski Brothers.

However, I voted for Mad Max for these reasons: 1) It's one for which I've waited more than a decade -- a version with the original Australian accents. (The original release was very poorly dubbed, IMO.) And 2) The coolest subtitle commentary I've seen since The Abyss. You read about everything: vehicles in the scene, the cost to film the scene, that Mad Max's home in the film is now available for summer rentals, on and on...

MAD MAX for sure!! Pure movie genius for the small budget!

I assume Water Rats TV show is aired in USA. Hell it's in Norway. Keep a look out for Steve Bisley!!

Rolleball since out of those 3 i've only seen Rollerball. And I can't wait 'til the new one comes out, is it tonight? or next week, or the week after that? i'm very poor at movie theatre release dates, since I go to the movies about once every 3 months.

Hold of on buying ROLLERBALL. A rerelease of the original in an SE is coming out shortly (possibly to coincide with the new movie coming to theatres) The transfer wasn't great on the first one, but I recommend you get the film when it comes out.

I have still not seen Buckaroo Bonzai.

MAD MAX is a cool film, and I love the MGM DVD. That's my suggestion.

Buckaroo is one of those films you have to watch a few times to decide if you like it for sure. I loved it, and its insane whirlwind of action, characters, one-liners, and corn make it immensly lovable. The DVD perfectly perfectly preserves its 2.35:1 OAR.

Mad Max- can't go wrong with this one. Everyone likes it for one reason or another.

Rollerball- saw it once and liked it. But I'm not sure. and if that SE is being released, i'd suck it in and wait.

The only one of the three I've seen is ROLLERBALL, a dreadful, tedious film that seems to last longer than chewing on a giant piece of salt-water taffy with an exposed root in your molar. I'd avoid it and get ANYTHING instead. I mean ANYTHING. Martha Stewart's Homemaking Tips. How to Dance the Macarena. Roseanne and Tom Arnold: Sex Tips for Fatties. ANYTHING.

That's a tough one!

Stay away from rollerball.

Buy Mad Max AND Buckaroo Banzai. It's got the most classic line ever.

" Now don't make fun, cuz remember: No matter where you go, there you are." Peter Weller rocked in the 80's.

I agree with loner...MAD MAX is a great disc. Haven't caught the BB disc yet, but I'm sure it's a great one.

I just watched the Mad Max disc a couple of nights ago. I can't wait to watch it again with the extras. Any idea if they're going to release a Road Warrior SE?

Mad Max is a fantabulous disc... you will definately like it.

But Buckaroo Banzai you might love. Everybody need see Buckaroo.

Actually, there's no way you can't get both of these.
