what version of ATLANTIS should i get?

The SE one looks great, filled with extras and all.

But the non-SE one is also kinda packed, and is $13 cheaper?

I loved the movie, so if anyone here has one or the other I'd love to see reviews.

i got the Tarzan SE cus its my favorite Disney movie ever, but the extras were a slight dissapointment for me. ( hence my current dilemma)

I can't speak for the Tarzan disc and its special features, but the Atlantis SE is just awesome! If you love this movie, then you should definitely pick up the SE. Just the intro film to the second disc is awesome, and thats before you get to everything else on that disc! Hope this helped.

I'd pick up the SE just because it looks a hell of alot better and a much nicer dvd.

Total no-brainer.

The 2Disc SE has loads of features & a DTS track.

(& from the reviews I've read.... the transfer is even a bit better because there's no FF version on the disc to eat up space)

Definately go with the 2DiscSet!

You were disappointed with the extras on the Tarzan CE?

This you've got to explain.

The extras on the Atlantis CE are in a similiar vein (not that I've gotten through all of then yet though

peace

Overall I think Disney did a nice job with the CE, especially with the tour mode which'll probably up the replay value for the extras, as you can see the video segments without having to navigate the (rather sluggish) menu system.
On a sidenote, I was rather surprised by the amount of brown-nosing from the people involved, and it almost made me reach for the power button...

I'm pretty sure it wasn't every one's cup of tea but you could have at least backed up your critique of it with your reasons I for one loved the movie and the SE is worth every penny (especially when it cost me $18.99)

A local second cd outlet has just started to get brand new DVD's (as well as used ones). They undercut all the local places (BB etc.), I'm not sure why it was so cheap, I'm guessing the clerk got mixed up with the two versions... lucky me! Most new releases are $14.99.

The two disc is great - in tour mode the featurettes make up a documentary that is two hours in istelf - longer than the film!

That's before the deleted scenes (including one fully produced), trailers and additional stuff!

Plus the "Visual commentary" on the first disc is great - explaining some very interesting and fun trivia!

Okay. [cracks knuckles] Awful character design (excpet for Kida and Helga), direct-to-video quality animation, choppy, poorly integrated CGI, obnoxious voice work, wretched dialogue ("We're gonna save Atlantis. Now let's DO IT!!!"), a plot with more holes than a ten-ton block of swiss cheese (okay, the Atlanteans can't figure out how to start up their machines for the last 100 years or so, but Milo shows up and comes up with the correct solution within about 24 hours? And how convenient that the Atlanteans just happen to know every possible language on Earth), and severely underwhelming, hyperbolically edited action scenes (compare with the thrilling chase through the ice crystals in Titan A.E., a film that looks like Star Wars in comparison to this one). Other than the reasons listed above, it was okay.

I got Titan A.E. at a dirt cheap price but still haven't got round to watching it yet, might have to give it a spin this weekend.
