Another dumb thing about Ocean's 11 DVD
Now this could be a rumor...but I read on DVD Journal that there will be two seperate releases of the film. A widescreen...and a pan & scan. It's like frigging "Willy Wonka" all over again. Warner's used to put both on the same disc, why change now? There's no way it could be cheaper or any more pointless.
It's going to be hilarious because this will inevitably be the version BB carries. ![]()

I think Indy is saying there's going to be two releases, and he'd rather it had one release with both. But Warner is doing it the other way. get it? They could have done a two disc set with both the pan and scan and OAR versions on it (the last one like that I purchased was "O"). But Warner doesn't seem to be very keen on doing multiple disc sets. The only ones I can think of are Citizen Kane and Dr. Zivago. Are there more? The Superman disc is a DVD-18, but that's not the same thing, is it...

This news is true.
Thankfully, when a film has seperate P&S and widescreen releases, the only store of many around hear that caries any P&S versions is usually Blockbuster. Everywhere else will sell widescreen thankfully (this was the case I remember for Silence of the Lambs, American Pie 2, etc.) Personally, a 2-disc set would be ideal. Having disc-art isn't a big deal for me though. Non-DVD enthuisasts could unknowingly buy the P&S version, when ideally, everyone should have the widescreen version accessible.. |
