How do you store Pi?

I just picked up the Artisan 2-pack Pi and Requiem For A Dream and was wondering how everyone stores Pi. Do you store Pi numerically or alphabetically?

Under P for Pi.

Although the result of a mathematical equation, for me, it does not meet the criteria of a number (numerical categorizations are reserved solely for integers or fractions explicitly stated in the title, e.g. 12 Monkeys, 9 1/2 Weeks; Six Days, Seven Nights fall under S)

I agree. I have The 6th Day numerically and The Fifth Element alphabetically.

I convert all numbers to letters. 6th Day, if I owned it, would go under S. If they already convert it to a number for me, like Sixth Sense, Fifth Element and Pi, then it's a no-brainer: under S, F, or P, respectively.

That's weird...I have the Whole Nine Yards under W. :p

I put them under the letter the number starts with.

I put Pi in my Sci-Fi section where the movies are in order of their year of release.

Under P for Pi. If it were called 3.1415926535897932384626433832795 (i'm good aint i?) it'd be under 3.

How do I store Pi?

As a floating point number, of course. (You can't do it any other way...)

If I had it, which I will pick it up soon, I'd store it next to my copy of Requiem For A Dream.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks about crap like this. I say under P because there is no really good place to put symbols, since the name of the movie is actually the symbol for pi (or 3.14). Too bad there's no key for it.

I didn't think it was possible, but I just gave myself a headache.

I don't store my DVDs in any order, except maybe what looks best on the shelf. I like keeping them color coordinated

Oh well, it looks good anyway.

I store DVDs two ways. I have a bookshelf where I keep all of the cases, and the actual discs I keep in two large CD cases, so that I can transport them easily. On my shelves, the discs are organized in a way that is designed to be visually attractive. They are organized by studio, that way all the discs that have similar spines are next to each other. From there, I just arrange them in whatever colors work well together. My "Pi" is located directly to the left of "Requiem for a Dream" on my shelf.

In my CD case, I organize all of the discs alphabetically by director, and then chronologically, so "Pi" falls under A for Aronofsky, and is right before "Requiem" becuase it was released earlier.

Hope I have been of help! ^_^

Thanx,
Brook

I keep Pi next to Requiem for a Dream. My dvds aren't organized as nicely as I would like because "secure" space in my college apartment is limited. I keep them in a weird closet type thing. I have my favorites in racks and the rest along with boxsets on a shelf above everything else. I have the racks organized by genres but I group some director's work together. I have PT Anderson, Bunuel, Bergman, Fellini, Scorsese, Lynch, Burton, Aronofsky, K Smith, Fincher, Von Trier, and Gilliam "sections".

If the actual name of the movie is , then it would go right before . Or would it go after?

Directors cut! They tried to hide the title under a cardboard strap so it took a little finageling to see under it.

BTW, How'd you make Pi? Looks cool.

I don't have Pi yet, but this is a very interesting subject to me because I've had discussions about how to store various titles with two different guys recently.

There's the number thing..do I put 9 to 5 near the top since it's numbers or under 'N', or with music DVDs with an artist's name, do I put them under the last name like with CDs or treat them like a regular film title and go by their first name, or skip that completely and go by the title of the work.

It's enough to make my head explode. But I sorta do a mixture. In my online collection, I've done the artists by their last names, and done numbers at the top, but on my shelf I did it the other way. Or sometimes I'll change it around if it suits getting a certain number of discs to a shelf, but that's getting too complicated.

If I had Pi, I'd probably put it near the top with the numbers for whatever reason.

I'd like to ask you guys on your opinion as long as we're on this topic...
I've got 2 of the 3 John Water's volumes, which contain 2 of his films in each case (POLYESTER/DESPERATE LIVING and HAIRSPRAY/PECKER).
As of right now, I've got them filed uner "W" for Waters, John.
any other suggestions???

This is just my opinion, but if I were you I'd place "Polyester/Desperate Living" under P and "Hairspray/Pecker" under H. It's not sexy but that's the way I would do it.
