Classic Horror?

I'm starting a little section on my DVD Shelf.

Nothing but the BEST 3 examples of every kind of Movie
in all genres

I will put Night of the Living Dead Millenium Edition in the first spot

need other recomendations which Evil Dead or other movies you all think appropo .
got the Vampire pictures from help from you guys on another thread. thanx

so pick a genre and pick a flick or 2

By "classic horror" I though you meant much older films, like the ones Laughing Gravy has listed, but it appears that you are moreso looking for "definitive" horror films. My recommendations are:

1. The Evil Dead (part 1 is the best IMO, as it is moreso horror than the comedic sand lesser sequels)
2. The Shining
3. Halloween
4. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
5. The Exorcist
6. Dawn of the Dead
7. PSYCHO!!!!!!!!!
